GCHS Foundation
The Gasconade County Historical Society Foundation
Purpose of the Foundation (Foundation By Laws in PDF)
The Gasconade County Historical Society Foundation was established by the Board of Directors to provide a permanent fund earning investment income which can be used to help meet ongoing, growing revenue needs and thus help assure the future of the Society and mission fulfillment.
Funding of the Foundation
The Foundation is funded through life memberships, memorial walkway bricks, gifts in memory or honor of family members or others, bequests, and any financial gift so designated.
Foundation Objective
The near term objective is to build the Foundation to a sufficient size to fund the salary of a full time executive director for the society. The director would provide daily direction and management to the Society, including making GCHS facilities and activities available to the public on a full time basis, with volunteer help still needed.
Ways to help assure the Society future with the Foundation size: ($500 minimum contributions preferred)
Cash Donations - You may donate to the GCHS at any time. Checks should be made payable to GCHS and mailed to P.O. Box 131, Hermann, MO 65041. You can also donate through our Online Store.
Securities – You may eliminate capital gains tax while receiving an income tax deduction for the fair market value of the gift. This could apply to a REAL ESTATE gift as well.
Matching Gifts – Many companies will match your contribution to the GCHS. Submit your matching gift form with your contribution to increase your support to the Society.
Planned Giving – You may donate through provisions in a Will, Trust, Gift Annuity, Life Insurance policy or other available charitable and estate planning tools.

Planned giving can provide significant estate, inheritance, gift and even possible immediate income tax saving opportunities and should be made with advice of a tax advisor. We hope you will let us know when you have named the Society in your planned giving. All contributors will be appropriately recognized, greatly appreciated and include any donor wishes.
