Redbird, Missouri

 

Redbird is a village in the southwest part of Gasconade County. The first settler was Isaiah Bowen, who built a small log cabin with a stick chimney in March 1829. The first frame house was built by R.A. Bowen in 1887. The first merchant was L.D. Viemann, who had the first grocery. The first blacksmith was Charles Fort. The postmaster was F. H. Buschmann. J. Smith was the first school master in 1852. JR Brown was the first preacher.
